Cocktails for Cause – A Great Time All ‘Round

You may remember Megan King. She met another Megan, Megan West and got involved supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Megan’s foray into event fund-raising was  a smashing success in Crownsville as  she joined with the folks at Lures to present Cocktails for a Cause on May 14.  The cocktail party to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation featured cocktails, Lures great menu, and wonderful items donated by friends and area businesses.cf-women

Not only did everyone have lots of fun, when it was over, they had raised nearly $1000.   Lures played a big part in the success of the event.  They donated the cost of a tent just in case it rained and generally helped throughout the evening.  The photo gives you an idea of the fun.

Congratulations to everyone involved in helping a great cause.

Crownsville (AC.c) Sometimes meeting one person can change your life giving you purpose and perspective.  Megan King met her namesake, Megan West when she was in her first years as a teacher at Belvedere Elementary School in Arnold.  The younger Megan was a bright and active little girl.  She’s now a bright, active middle school student.

Megan, the teacher, became friends with Wendy West, Megan’s mom when they were both teaching at Belvedere.  She became friends with the whole West family including Megan.  She’s learned that Megan was bright – a straight A student-and active, an indoor soccer player, and that she was one in 30,000.   Continue reading “The things we do today are the things that help people in the future” Do Something for CF.
