This weekend the Annapolis Chorale will once again present its magnificent performance of Handel’s Messiah in concert at St. Anne’s Church in Annapolis. Obviously they are concerned about the weather. Director J. Ernest Green wants everyone to know that the Chorale will honor all tickets for any Messiah Performance over the weekend. If their schedule changes, they will post an update on Green’s blog
Crownsville: My friend Phyllis Everette has been part of the Annapolis Chorale for most of her adult life. She was the manager for quite a bit of that time and participated as the group went from a local organization to one of greater recognition. They have sung at Carnegie Hall. They added a fabulous youth chorus, which adds some of the areas best young voices to their performances. They’ve broadened their repertoire. Fortunately for us they’ve taken their show on the road, too. Phyllis has passed on the information about a great summer entertainment opportunity. The Chorale will be treating their audience to a fabulous program over on the shores of the Magothy this coming week. Continue reading A Summer Treat – Starlit Broadway a la Annapolis Chorale

The Annapolis Chorale and Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of J. Ernest Green, continues its 36th season on Friday and Saturday, February 13-14, at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts with Alan J. Lerner and Frederick Loewe‘s Tony Award-winning “Brigadoon.” This musical tale of two modern hikers who stumble upon the legendary village of Brigadoon, which appears for one day every 100 years, has had several popular runs over the years on the stages of New York and London and was made into a movie starring Gene Kelly in 1954. In this Broadway in Annapolis production, the interwoven stories told through the words and music of Lerner and Loewe benefit from the Chorale’s signature combination of staged play and concert featuring a full orchestra, chorus and soloists/actors including Troy Clark (Tommy), Ashleigh Rabbitt Sekoski (Fiona) and Tom Magette (Charlie). Members of the Annapolis Chorale also appear in supporting roles. Continue reading Annapolis Chorale Presents Brigadoon
